Pregnancy, while an amazing experience, can come with physical complications and pain. However, there are some techniques pregnant women can use to help treat some of the physical hardships and discomfort.
Chiropractic care while pregnant is a fantastic resource that is both safe and effective. Zandi Chiropractic wants to share some of our tips about chiropractic care during pregnancy and the Webster Technique.
The Webster Technique & Prenatal Chiropractic Care
During pregnancy a woman’s body is undergoing continuously changing biomechanics. Certain techniques are used during this period to make sure that the patient is not only safe but can achieve optimal comfort and effectiveness.
The Webster technique is a unique chiropractic approach that works by analyzing and adjusting the womens pelvic regions. This technique creates a balance in the muscles and pelvic structures leading to improved function and less stress on a woman’s uterus. Furthermore, this technique allows the baby to get into the optimal position for birth.
Biomechanics
During pregnancy women will undergo biomechanical changes in their spine as a result of carrying their child. These changes can cause stressors in the body to become inflamed leading to pain. Certain stressors that may be triggered include:
Forward Tilt Of Pelvis
- Leg pain
- Lower back pain
- Pubic Pain
Forward Tilt Of Neck
- Neck pain
- Carpal Tunnel
- Shoulder blade sensitivity
Backward Tilt Of Head
- Neck pain
- Muscle stiffness
- Headaches
